And I'm not overreacting, she swallowed a whole load of pills, was rushed into hospital but she snuck out and now she's back home. She's an alcoholic, has 2 kids in foster care. I'm her oldest child and she's unmarried. I want to know to get someone sectioned. She's been depressed before and tried to kill herself years ago when I was younger. She self harms in the form of, she doesn't eat for weeks at a time.

I would be careful about sectioning someone I would advise you to go private try and get private help not nhs sectioning I'm not saying he doesnt need help I'm just saying that after someone has been sectioned it can be quite a traumatic experience I personally would have nothing to do with the NHS and go private Certainly job prospects will be affected and not to mention how he's going to feel about you having him sectioned.
