When is the next tunnels book out

How is Will going to save every Topsoiler from being murdered right along with everyone else? Not to mention that murdering stepsister of his is still at large? These authors have delivered a novel that keeps your attention for every page. Readers enjoy the book because of the way it is unlike any other young adult book that is out there. It is a lot more grim and realistic world that these authors have made.

Chester and Will have been sent right into FreeFall. They tumble down right through the subterranean Pore with both of the evil Rebecca twins right on their trail, both carrying the lethal Dominion virus.

When, where, and will are they ever going to land? When the drop begins to feel infinite, the boys hit bottom. They find that they are in a realm of just about zero gravity, right on top of a giant fungus that is filled with some artifacts, which come from a lost golden age.

The duo is not alone, though. Above ground, there are Styx dressed in black sprouting like poison mushrooms, determined to spread their plague around. These books do a great job of opening our minds back up to the possibilities as to what may lie beneath our feet. It also does an excellent job of continuing the story began in the first two books. New explorations and discoveries keeping you moving through the action with Will and his friends.

The fascination in the subterranean world here increases with every single turn of the page. His enemy, the Styx, are coming right behind him. They are willing to follow him to the ends of any world out there. After they get their revenge, there is their original plan to destroy mankind, called Dominion.

Top-soil, there are some unexpected allies that are ready to fight back. For some readers, they are constantly learning new vocabulary words with every book from this series. This one is another roller coaster, and each one appears to get better than the one before it. Anybody who believed the Limiters were one nasty bunch, they have not seen anything, yet. They brought their women with them this time around. Will as well as his friends are the only things that stand in their way, as do a rag-tag bunch of retired commandos.

The entire thing is a smoking spiral of chaos that not everyone is going to make it out alive from. Entire extermination of the English.

YAY; one less. Publicists did this book a disservice by comparing it to the Harry Potter series wanting to rise it in popularity. I already tell you that it is not at all like it. There are NO magicians, nor beings of mythology of fairytales around here; so it does not resemble Artemis Fowl II, despite the underground.

But the problem of the book is not that. The problem is that none of the protagonists is nice. From the beginning, I disliked the father, and don't tell me about the son, our pseudohero.

So it was very hard for me to read it, only in the third part did I pick up the pace, and that for the Macauley and Jerome. What is it about? Roger Burrows is a devalued archeologist who runs a small junk museum, obsessed with the 'great discovery that will make him famous'. He has passed this mania on to her son Will. Will Burrows , the protagonist is 14 years old, he is albino and suffers bullying because of his appearance, and the only thing that interests him is digging.

He is a selfish teenager and does not see beyond his nose. His friendship with Chester Rawls , a big and loyal boy, saves him from bullies and Will ends up dragging Chester in things that The family dynamics of the Burrows family attracts attention, the mother does not moves all day from the sofa in front of the television, the father when not in the museum is in his nearby excavations, the older son worried about excavations and that his father will appreciate him, and the younger daughter, Rebecca , 12 years old, is the one who take care of the house, the accounts, the washing, shopping, cleaning and even the kitchen.

Neither the father nor the son occurs to collaborate in the house, let alone the irresponsibility of the father, and the abulia of the son who finds this most normal. Machismo at it best. Therefore, zero sympathy for the pair of shovelers. When Dr. Burrows begins to notice some weird things like the men in the hat and glasses, plus various things like basements that give access to really strange places, we realize where this is going.

And suddenly the doctor disappears. It is a fantasy with a mystery to discover, which in fact leaves us at the end of the volume with many pending questions. Will, who has convinced Chester to join his little diggers club, is desperate to find his father and it is here that he gets his friend into huge trouble. What they find below London is a whole underground culture with its own laws, and strange devices that speak of science far from the known. The Colony seems to be in Dickens' time, they go to a cult that despises and repels those from Above, and their leaders are called "Styx" the so-called men in black.

Pulp, it is going to get more violent. Much hatred, prejudice, classism, and well as I say the final part became more bearable. There are a couple of unexpected twists, but I'll give it a lot of thought if I stick with this saga. As I said, zero sympathy for the MCs. Five more books? La nebunie! Pinky promise! Lavinia Reads. Not my cup of fantasy but it was ok.

I-am dat totusi 3 stelute fiindca am apreciat lumea si ideea originala.

Mi-a placut mult de Tam si de pisica aceea At the end of the day, sunt sigura ca mi-ar fi placut mai mult la 12 ani :. Mike the Paladin. Well, this is the last YA type book I'm planning to read in the foreseeable future, and I'm just as glad. I've read several lately that have disappointed me. This had also. I found the book mildly interesting as it opened with the "supposed" father son digging team stocking the little museum and saving their own prizes.

He was great fun and always had this big smile pasted across his face. He should have had a life like mine, but it was stolen from him by cancer, and Summerhouse Land is my attempt at unburdening some of that sadness. That is very sad. And you said there were two places you got your inspiration from? Yes, about the same time I kept having a recurring dream — it related to an area at the end of the garden where I used to play. I dug some really extensive holes and trenches there.

Yes, you could say Tunnels sort of started in that stretch of earth too. It was probably my psychological antidote to the grey London weather in the late sixties and early seventies, but I had the dream so often about this idyllic place that I called it Summerhouse Land. Maybe more so. And is it going to have an electronic version? Both, perhaps. It hurts. So my limited edition of Summerhouse Land is my rather childish response to them!

However, I might also put it out as an ebook at some point so at least people have a way of actually reading it. And also what happened with the Earth? Hi, Emilia and Santiago.

That would be answered if there was ever another Tunnels book, which is up to Chicken House. I also quite like it that the current ending leaves things unresolved, just as things are so often left unresolved in real life. Readers can make up their own minds as to what comes next ….

Or maybe I could make it really frustrating and not have them cross paths again! It meant I could spend more time with him and also bring Sweeney back into play. I miss Sweeney — I regret losing him like that. I could maybe send you a scene if you like.

And another reader, EliasibJv, has said that you seem to be in favour of the Hollow Earth theory. If so, when and why did you become interested in this topic? Probably because of my ancestor William Buckland and his work as one of the first palaeontologists. His Pellucidar series is set in the hollow earth and I was a bit shocked how close some of my ideas were to his when Will and Dr Burrows finally make their way through to the inner world in Freefall.

Hi, Soso. I grew up watching Doctor Who. I used to watch it because I was so desperate — I watched television all the time when I was at home during the holidays and missed it like anything. Doctor Who was very low budget back then, but it was compelling because the plots could play out over quite a few episodes rather than being restricted to one or two.

When it was brought back I started to watch it again with my two sons. Pedro also sent this question: When is your birthday? I was going to bury it in one of the books but never did in the end.

I thought I should work them all out and out them down on a piece of paper, particularly if I was going to embark on any prequels. Yes and no. I loved it and hated it. Building a series like that and trying to make each book better, yet different from the last is a real killer. You can send a story in so many directions that it sometimes makes you freeze and unable to write. What happens next? Is this absolutely the right choice?

Something totally new. Thank you for answering so many questions!
